4-Day Desert Tour From Marrakech Itinerary

Discover Morocco with this private 4 days desert tour from Marrakech starting an exciting journey towards the exotic Moroccan Sahara, passing by the most captivating views of the middle atlas mountains, followed by a cozy camp in the bare Sahara desert and finally arriving at the red city of Marrakech.

Day 1: Marrakech- Ait ben haddou- Dades Valley

On the first day of our 4 days desert tour from Marrakech journey our driver will pick you up from your hotel/riad in marrakech in the morning, crossing the high atlas mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka (2260m), heading towards Ait benhaddou village, the fortified ksar with its beautiful kasbahs.

Ait benhaddou has served as a natural scenery for many movie producers on projects like Gladiator, the Mummy, The Jewel of the Nile and Game of Thrones.

After lunch, we will head to Dades Valley through Ouarzazate, the palm grove of skoura and Valley of Roses, where we will spend the first night.

Day 2: Dades valley- Todra gorges- Sahara desert dunes

In the Morning of 2nd day of the desert tour from Marrakech and after breakfast we will continue our Sahara desert tour, taking the road of 1000 kasbahs to drive around the colorful berber villages of Dades Valley. to get to Tingher with its beautiful palm grove.

We will continue to the Gorge of Todra , where we will go trekking along the canyons of about 300 m high, a preferred place for mountain climbers.

Afterwards, we will head to Erg Chebbi dunes in the Merzouga Sahara desert, and we will have lunch on our way. Then we’ll arrive at the dunes of Erg Chebbi and check into a lovely hotel.

Day 3: Merzouga tours – Camel ride desert tours

After breakfast, we will go on a short excursion of Merzouga, Khamlia village (village of the Gnawa) and mines of MIFISS located on a high plateau where we are going to be meeting some of the desert’s berber nomads.

In the late afternoon, we will ride the camels to our camp. On the way we will have the chance to witness and take pictures of one of the best sunsets in the world overlooking the endless Sahara sand dunes. In the camp you will have a private tent and a delicious dinner.

Day 4: Merzouga desert tour from Marrakech – back to Marrakech

After a quiet and memorable night in the dunes of Erg Chebbi desert, you can watch the sunrise over the dunes before breakfast.

After breakfast you will have some free time to take a relaxing warm shower, then travel back to marrakech via rissani and Draa valley. Arrival to marrakech would be in late afternoon
